Defense Infrastructure and Equipment Upgrades (state projects)

Section: Division A, Title X | Agency: Dept. of Military Affairs

Provides increased funding for small construction projects (up to $750K each) that can be used for federal facilities. Also provides increased funding for equipment replacement. State allocation will be determined by the National Guard Bureau. Separate programs provide resources for larger projects selected by the Department of Defense.

Brief description of program or funding including funding distribution method (formula or competitive grant):

Sustainment Revitalization and Modernization (SRM) projects which encompass minor repairs, renovations or remodels that range in price up to $750,000. These funds are distributed by the National Guard Bureau.

When funds are expected to be available:      April 20, 2009

How long are funds available:

ARRA funds are available for new obligation until 30 September 2009.  Dept of Military Affairs expects to award at least 50% of the projects by dollar value by 17 June 2009 and the remainder by 30 September 2009.
