An estimated $879 million for Florida recipients of food assistance payments. Funding does not go through the state budget.

Brief description of program or funding including funding distribution method (formula or competitive grant):   Food assistance payments made directly to individuals on electronic benefit transfer cards.

When funds are expected to be available:  April 1, 2009

How long are funds available:   Continuous.  Immediate impact fades over time because the 13.6% increase on April 1, 2009 is in lieu of the normal October adjustment.  Each October when the benefit amount would normally be increased, the incremental impact of the ARRA increase diminishes.
